From the food to the shopping our trip to Paris was delicious.
Ok first restaurant we went to was Lou Lou. Now this is not to be confused with Lou Lou Santa Monica. When I came back to the states I was like “OMG they have one in Santa Monica!” But do not believe that, this is a completely different Lou Lou, not the same lol There are only 3 and they are only in France. This spot is a MUST GO. It is literally right outside of the Louvre, on a big grass lawn with a view of the Eiffel Tower of course. We had pesto basil gf pasta (yes I ate carbs *gasp* & apparently was too happy about it to take a pic before demolishing them *see below*) , a salad and a lady (American of course) sitting next to us gave us tiramisu (see the remainder in the bottom left pic below also ha. Leave it to me to get free dessert even without a colab. The cocktails were delightful and the company even better.
“Then we went to have margs at cafe Bohm and then dinner at the Castel Cafe by the Eiffel tower .”
The next day we went to Les Dues Maggots where we split a salad. I had wine of course, and Mandi had freshly squeezed orange juice, so together we were almost a Mimosa.
Next we went to Museum Du Parfum, a perfume shop/ museum where they show you how perfume is made! It was a very cool experience except for the fact that I discovered the “musky smell” I like originally came from the inside of an animal’s stomach…. full disclosure it is now synthetic! But the fact remains, and to that Mandi said “some Vegan you are” smh. Anyyyyways, after all the sniffing I realized I really like LV better and Mandi bought me my own customized LV with my initials on it for Christmas *sighhhh* what a gal.
The we went to have margs at Cafe Bohm (Mandi’s was virgin) and then dinner at the Castel Cafe by the Eiffel tower. This was probably our favorite spot, we went back like 3 times! Everyone was so kind, the bar tender even made me a custom drink he names Chelsko… ok it wasn’t that custom because it was clearly a Sex On The Beach… but the thought was why counts….right?
“Then we went to have margs at cafe Bohm and then dinner at the Castel Cafe by the Eiffel tower .”
The next day was Disneyland . . . yes I went to Disneyland while being in Paris. . . the alcohol was cheap don’t judge me, let’s not talk about it. . . ok MOVING ON
That evening we went back to Cafe Bohm which was right by our hotel and split my favorite thing – a charcuterie board.
Day whatever we are on, Versailles. Ahhhh yesss the palace, the palace where we were sardined in with hundreds of sweaty people saw paintings of a bunch of old dead guys, saw the living quarters of the royal family which was fascinating, the music room was my personal fave andddd got lost on the bus back to our hotel (Mandi cannot read directions smh).
Later that evening after an outfit change we headed out have drinks starting at Cafe Bohm followed by the Ritz and then finished with dessert and drinks at Le Matignon. We met our favorite people ever, a group of hot, business owning moms and partied til the wee hours of the morning. We made it back to our hotel and in Mandi’s words I “drunk cooked eggs”. Who doesn’t love ending the night in a “drunk kitchen”?
THE LOUVRE
A picture is worth a thousand words. You can probably take a gander so I’d like to say that the pic above represents how I showed up to the Louvre but know how we were feeling at this point is pictured below (mostly me Mandi doesn’t really drink she sips and by sips I mean like one sip)
Luckily for me I don’t really get hungover, more just tired, blessing or a curse? Idk but the Louvre was PHENOM. We saw the Mona Lisa and were so busy taking pics in front of her we forgot to actually look at her and had to go back. Here’s one of them …
We finished off the night with dinner at Moloko.
Food for thought to take away with, when traveling don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone, take public transportation, go to museums that you don’t think you would like.. I was surprised with Van Goghs Entire collection at the Musée de Orsay
Once I was about to die of hunger, Mandi navigated us and we ate at Cafe de Flore and I finally got to have my strawberries and Chantilly cream! We finished off the day at our favorite spot, Castel Cafe (by the Eiffel Tower).
The day after that we went back to where Notre Dame was and we ate at that cafe (can’t remember it’s name). We stopped in at Shakespeare and Company bookstore to pick some souvenirs. Then we went to Pink Mama where we had apps and then glass of champagne at that hotel (also cannot remember the name).
LAST DAY
Our last day we had breakfast at Cafe de Paris, a little cafe I found on my morning run. It was diviiiiine. Mandi and I finally caved and actually ate a croissant.
And for the Grand finale we had dinner on Baton Mouge Cruise. We got to see all of our previous rendeveaus from a different perspective on the river. It was a lovely way to end the trip. Most people like to go to Paris with a SO, but Mandi and I felt very strongly about ditching that idea. Paris was everything we thought it would be and nothing at all like we thought it would be AT THE SAME TIME.
