My Journey Through Koh Samui: The Best Stays from Beachfront Bliss to Mountain Retreats
Koh Samui has always held a special place in my heart, and this recent trip reminded me why. Over the course of my stay, I had the opportunity to experience a variety of accommodations, each offering its own unique charm. From luxurious resorts to cozy Airbnbs, here’s a rundown of the places that made my time on this beautiful island unforgettable.
Coral Cliff Beach Resort
My adventure began at the Coral Cliff Beach Resort, and it was the perfect start to my Koh Samui journey. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with a refreshing cocktail, setting the tone for the entire stay. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive, making me feel right at home. The resort itself was a slice of paradise—boasting a stunning pool with a bar where you could sip drinks while soaking up the sun. The gym was well-equipped, and the full breakfast each morning was a delightful way to start the day. Best of all, the resort offered private beach access, providing a serene and secluded escape. It was truly a haven of relaxation.
1 Airbnb: Samui Harmony Beach Shack
Next, I moved to a more rustic yet equally enchanting spot—Samui Harmony, a small beach shack listed on Airbnb. Located right on the sand at Lamai Beach, this place was simplicity at its finest. It might have been basic, but it was exactly what I needed. Waking up to the sound of the waves and stepping right out onto the beach was pure bliss. Every morning, we were treated to a full breakfast, delivered right to our doorstep. The real gem of this stay, however, was the lady who runs it. Her warmth and hospitality truly made the experience unforgettable.
2 Airbnb: Tambon Bo Put (Small Cute Villa)
After Lamai Beach, I headed up the mountain to my next Airbnb in Tambon Bo Put—a newly remodeled, small but incredibly cute villa. This spot was a bit of a trek up the mountain, but the seclusion was worth it. The villa had its own private pool, perfect for a refreshing dip after a day of exploring. The property also came with a bike, making it easier to get around. While it was a little remote, the peaceful atmosphere and modern amenities made it a great place to unwind.
3 Airbnb: Tambon Bo Put (Large Fancy Villa)
Continuing the mountain retreat theme, I moved to another Airbnb in Tambon Bo Put—a large, fancy villa that was nothing short of spectacular. The villa was beautifully designed, offering a luxurious space to relax and take in the surroundings. The infinity pool was a definite highlight, offering breathtaking views that stretched out over the island. However, the villa’s location on the mountain made it a bit tricky to access without a bike. Despite this, the panoramic views and the stunning villa made it a worthwhile stay.
Combo Beach Hotel
After my time in the mountains, I headed back to the coast and checked into the Combo Beach Hotel. This beachfront hotel offered the perfect mix of comfort and convenience. The hotel featured a beautiful pool area and direct access to the beach, making it easy to enjoy the sun and sea. The location was ideal, placing me close to all the local attractions while still providing a peaceful retreat to return to at the end of the day.
Al’s Hotel Koh Samui
My journey concluded at Al’s Hotel Koh Samui, which quickly became one of my favorites. Despite the lack of WiFi, the hotel had so much to offer that it didn’t even matter. Located right on the beach, the hotel had a fantastic pool and was just across from the mall. It was also situated in the heart of town, with plenty of restaurants and massage places just a stone’s throw away. The convenience, coupled with the beautiful beachfront location, made this the perfect place to end my Koh Samui adventure.
Koh Samui truly offered a diverse range of experiences, from luxury resorts to simple beach shacks, each providing a unique perspective of the island. Whether it was the stunning views from the mountains or the convenience of being right in the heart of town, every place I stayed contributed to an unforgettable trip. As I reflect on my journey, I’m grateful for each of these experiences and look forward to my next adventure on this incredible island.
